DAMAR ORCHESTRA

Artists have always seen, felt, and experienced the world in a very delicate way. Music certainly helps them to perceive the world around them in the closest and most authentic manner.

In this case, the artists of Damar Orchestra aim to unite their audience and convey a state of peace, love, and tranquility. Since everything in the universe is interconnected, so too are music and various genres, linked by the same subtle emotions from which they originate.

Love, as a universal remedy, heals every pain and amplifies happiness. Every traditional music, regardless of its culture, rests at its core on love—the most sincere emotion from which everything begins.

When people dance the tango, they are carried away by passion; when they play jazz, a genuine feeling arises within them, speaking through the instruments via improvisation. And when sevdah is sung, it supports the most intimate human emotions of pain and suffering, followed by a heroic elevation to the most radiant mode that celebrates love and life.

At the helm of the Damar Orchestra, as its founder and artistic director, is the professional trumpeter and university professor Nikola Mijajlović.
